Editorial & Sourcing Policy
The non-negotiable rules governing reporting, factual attribution, and editorial independence at COURTSIDE.
1. Verification & Hard Rules on Data Integrity
- Never fabricate statistics: We never invent or approximate statistics to bolster a narrative. When a stat is unavailable, it is marked as
unavailable. - Attribution: Quotes, roster transactions, and contract reporting must be attributed directly to the primary source.
- Sample Data Transparency: Prototype or simulated records are strictly segregated under
/data/sampleand flagged with visible badges.
2. Corrections Protocol
When an error of fact or calculation occurs, COURTSIDE issues a transparent correction note at the top of the article detailing the date, the erroneous claim, and the verified corrected data. Silent edits are strictly prohibited.
3. Separation of Fact and Opinion
All editorial essays, tactical film analyses, and award ballots are labeled as commentary and kept distinct from canonical statistical records and verified box scores.
